Government
Councilor Steve McKenna
In 2021 I moved to Watson from Dawson Creek, B.C. I was born and raised in British Columbia around the forest industry and lived in 22 communities from north to south, attending 14 different schools.
I am retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) member having spent 7 years in uniform in both Isolated and Limited duration posts; 18 years as a Detective in Federal Drug Enforcement and Serious Crimes Units focused on overt and covert ops, retiring at rank of Sergeant. Following the RCMP, I spent five years as a BC Coroner, and ten years in Private Investigation.
In 2013, myself and a friend put together a website to remember those RCMP members who have served their country with honour, called the RCMP Vets Net (www.rcmpvets.ca). This ongoing project lists in the “Last Post”, all the members who served in the Force since its inception including any available and relevant information.
My core values include God, Family and Country.
I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the growth and well-being of this community.
I expect the Town of Watson will be my last post.
